The TYPES workshop 2002 includes a social event, taking place on april 26. Shortly after lunch we will depart to the famous Kröller-Müller-museum situated in De Hoge Veluwe national park.
De Hoge Veluwe is the Netherlands' largest national park featuring forests, heather, sands, and a few small lakes. There is a visitors' centre, a landscape garden, and an (underground) museum on natural history, the Museonder.
The Kröller-Müller-museum is one of the Netherlands' most famous musea. Its fame derives not only from the large collection of paintings by van Gogh, Picasso, Mondriaan and others, but also from its sculpture garden, featuring works by e.g. Rodin.
Apart from the fixed exhibits, the Kröller-Müller-museum has a separate exhibition programme which will, at the day of our visit, feature two exhibitions, Hommes de valeur (works by Latour, Redon and contemporaries) and Kröller-Müller and the philosopher's stone (works inspired by the Harry Potter series of books).
After the museum closes, we will go back to the city of Nijmegen, to have dinner in Restaurant Quirin's. This Restaurant floats on the river Waal, with a magnificent view of the popular Waalkade and the Waal bridge.
